Concerning dissemination on th Global Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church

On Tuesday, September 27th at 7:00 pm, Maples will be holding a very important town hall style meeting in the Sanctuary. Over the course of this meeting, district superintendant Rickey Hayes, treasurer David Stotts, and pastor Steven Sparks will be going over all information and answering all questions regarding the United Methodist Church, the Global Methodist Church, and the disaffiliation process.

Maples as a body will have to make a decision before the end of 2022 as to whether it is going to stay in the United Methodist Church or move to the Global Methodist Church or an independent denomination. This meeting is meant to give all of the information so that we can make an informed decision on what course of action we will take. It is absolutely crucial that you attend this meeting so that you can be an informed voter if we need to take a vote.

This meeting will be completely transparent about the matters that have caused the separation within the United Methodist Church. We will discuss honestly all the options available to us going forward, and thoroughly go through all the repercussions of any given decision. We need every Maples member here on the 27th.
